A new beginning for this 1930s commercial and residential space
This 1930s mixed residential-commercial property was beautifully renovated in just one year to become the new home of Doulton Cloutier Inc. with a second storey apartment.
Project Highlights:
- Tight schedule: the objective was to completely renovate and transform the new space and move in within one year.
- Navigating complex systems: liaise with the city planning department to ensure the proposed design met old and new zoning bylaws without a variance.
- Multi-functional space: a formal boardroom was artfully designed to also serve as a comfortable lunch room.
- Natural light: an informal meeting table was placed next to newly installed patio doors.
- Second story residential unit: a rental until was created with the old structural brick being exposed to create a rustic and modern look with lots of natural light.
